Our history
In the 1930s, when the housing in the Hilton area was new, a congregation from the city centre known as the High Church moved location to the new Hilton area. The name High Church, Hilton has been the name of the congregation since that time and the building that we currently worship in has been used as a place of Christian worship since 1937. There have been six ministers of the congregation and a strong community association between the church and the surrounding area.
The prominence of the building sitting above the six-roads' roundabout, along with its central location within the parish has, over the years, made the church something of a focal point of the Hilton area. Having been once a new area of housing on the very edge of the city, our parish is now very much central within the city. However, the congregation continues to serve the members of the parish in many ways and seeks today to be a witness to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in this area of Aberdeen.
